Jackie is pleased to have been awarded a 2021 City of Melbourne Annual Arts Grant to record an album featuring female composers, and start developing a book on Australian Women in Jazz. The funds cover the album costs but there is still more needed to get the book through to its final stages and ensure the inclusion of a diverse and incredibly talented selection of top Australian female musicians. The book, apart from being a fascinating read, will help promote Australian female jazz artists and provide easily accessible role models for aspiring musicians.
Jackie’s development of the book and role as chief editor will remain voluntary, however extra funds will enable Jackie to include even more incredible female musicians (by offering them a modest honorarium) and hire a professional editor and designer for the final stages of the book.
If you would like to be a patron (acknowledged or anonymous) to help support this effort, please use the donate button below or contact Jackie to learn more about the project and where the funds are needed. Any amount, small or large, will be much appreciated!
